Context and Conversation Memory
How Watchers use recent conversation history — bounded, not unlimited.
Where supported, a Watcher can use recent conversation context: who asked a question, who replied to it, whether a topic already came up, and whether it — or a different Watcher — already answered something recently.
For example, if a member asks "who did I ask that earlier?" shortly after asking Ms VP a question, a Watcher may correctly answer "You asked Ms VP earlier" — because that exchange is still within its recent conversation window.
This context is bounded to a recent window of the conversation, not unlimited or permanent memory. The further back an exchange happened, or the busier the Community has been since, the less likely a Watcher is to reference it accurately. Don't rely on a Watcher recalling something from days or weeks earlier unless it's been saved as Project Knowledge instead.
Recent context is used to avoid redundant replies and to keep a conversation coherent — it is not the same thing as Project Knowledge, which is the durable, explicitly-approved information a Watcher answers from (see "Project Knowledge").
