Watcher Slots and Billing
Watcher Slot Usage = Active Watcher × Active Customer-Facing Community Deployment.
Watcher slots measure deployments, not the number of Watcher identities you've created in the dashboard. The formula: Watcher Slot Usage = Active Watcher × Active Customer-Facing Community Deployment.
Example 1 — 1 Watcher, 1 Community = 1 slot.
Example 2 — 1 Watcher, 3 Communities = 3 slots.
Example 3 — 3 Watchers, 1 Community = 3 slots.
Example 4 — 3 Watchers across 2 Communities (Watcher A → Community 1, Watcher B → Community 1, Watcher C → Community 2) = 3 slots. All three also connected to one private Escalation Group = still 3 slots — the Escalation Group adds zero.
Creating a Watcher Record doesn't by itself use a slot; only an active deployment does. Pausing a deployment frees its slot immediately; reactivating it re-checks your current capacity against your plan.
See "The Escalation Group Slot Rule" for the full billing rule around Escalation Groups, and "Watcher Profiles vs Deployments vs Slots" for the underlying concepts.
